We Have 25 iPhone Apps - And More Coming Soon!
By Daryl Cagle | March 7th, 2010 | PERMALINKWe’ve been working hard on our Cagle Cartoons iPhone apps. Â Here’s a rundown on what you can find in the Apple iTunes Store now.
OUR FREE APPS:
Our first and biggest app is our free “msnbc.com Cartoons” app. Â This app gives you all the newest cartoons from all of our cartoonists, and like all of our apps, it works like iPhoto and updates in real time. Â We also have cool features that allow you to post a cartoon to Facebook or Twitter, to e-mail a cartoon and save a cartoon to your photo library. Â We have 25,000 users for this app so far! Â Download the msnbc.com Cartoons app here.
Our free “msnbc.com Conservative Cartoons” app runs from a feed of the newest cartoons that we screen to be acceptably right-wing … so as not to offend the sensibilities of our conservative cartoon fans who can’t stand seeing those disgusting, liberal cartoons. Â Get the msnbc.com Conservative Cartoons app here.
Our free “msnbc.com Liberal Cartoons” app runs from a feed of the newest cartoons that we screen to be acceptably from the left - so as not to offend the sensibilities of our liberal cartoon fans who can’t stand seeing those disgusting, conservative cartoons. Â Get the msnbc.com Liberal Cartoons app here.
Our free “msnbc.com Obama Cartoons” app displays the newest cartoons about President Obama. Can’t get enough change?  We’ve got plenty of change as the newest Obama cartoons never stop updating from cartoonists around the world.  The icon art is by our brilliant cartoonist, Nate Beeler.  Get our msnbc.com Obama Cartoons app here.
Our free “msnbc.com Business Cartoons” app gives you all the newest cartoons about business and the economy in a real time cartoon-news feed - with all the cool features you get on our other apps, like e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and easy saves to your iPhoto library.  It is a must for every greedy banker and Wall Street crook! Download the free msnbc.com Business Cartoons app here.
OUR 99 CENT APPS:
We’re going to start doing more topical apps, and this is our first one, “Sex Cartoons.” Â Before we announced the app it already had a stream of purchases on the iTunes store, just from the title. Â This is a collection of my cartoons about sex from my TRUE cartoon comic that I drew in the 1990’s. Download “Sex Cartoons” here.
ARTIST APPS:
We’ve started making apps for all of the artists we represent.  These are all 99 cents and feature all the newest cartoons by each artist, plus an archive of past cartoons and all the cool features you get on our other apps, like e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and easy saves to your iPhoto library.  The first of our artist apps have been approved, and here they are …

Lordy, Lordy, Daryl…how keenly you walk the fence…the barbed wire tightrope between the circling sharks on the liberal left and the dogmatic deacons of the far right . You are offering cartoon apps. for sensitive lefties and cautious conservatives…no need to offend, when one can always preach to the choir, eh? I must congratulate you for accomplishing what none of our national ’statesmen’ has been able to do: offer an opportunity for civility instead of political haranguing, a place at the fence to celebrate our differences while simultaneously, quietly condescending and disparaging the poor lackeys on the other side. Well, for once, I’m with you…I’m choosing the middle ground, neither the left nor the right, but The Patriots’ Path of checks and balances, of fidelity to The Constitution of our Founding Fathers, of States’ Rights and freedom from intrusion by a spiraling spending central government that denies its citizens any semblance of self-actuated individual behavior; a release from the ‘nanny-state’ that tells us it is caring for our best interest, all the while surreptitiously stealing our children and grandchildren’s inheritance and decimating our hard-earned legacy to them. The grassroots have just begun to smolder, and with no eye to party affiliation will soon burst into raging flames that will sweep from coast to coast, cauterizing the massive wounds to our beloved Republic and bringing in a new day of responsible, responsive representation by a congress that fully understands who their employer is: the people of our country.

Remember when you knew the post “man” by name and he knew yours? Remember when he walked his route? Remember when he delivered the morning and the afternoon mail on week days and the morning mail on Saturdays? Remember when you could send mail by rail or by air? Airmail was a luxury back then and cause for concern when received. Maybe this personal relationship is gone forever, but so has the art of writing a letter. Messages–whether instant of not, just don’t engage the writer’s brain like a well written letter use to. Perhaps I’m just showing my age by being nostalgic for the “good old days?”

A short \’THANK YOU\’ to JAMES II…what a gentle recollection of just one of the \’little things\’ we have lost along our way to expediency instead of personal attention, brusqueness replacing concern, greediness over generosity, thoughtful civility replaced by rudeness and feigned concern over genuine caring. The sweet recall of \’The Way It Was\’ during our coming-of-age in the 1950s and 1960s, the innocence remembered, the \’sweet bird of youth\’ now only a fluttering memory, all sweeping back through the years to the present day, allowing us to re-live, if for only a moment, another time, another place when kindness reigned.
